Being a student in the MSc in Data Analytics and Business Economics (MScDABE) Programme in Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) made me realize that I am on the right track of pursuing a career in Big Data field. Firstly, the lectures about big data analytics, both concept and programming, were taught systematically from the very basic to advanced techniques. I could understand and follow the courses even I did not have any programming background. The MScDABE Programme covers a balanced training of both business mindset and technical skills. Moreover, some of the lectures were delivered by industry experts and practitioners. They taught us how to apply the data analytics knowledge in the real business world and introduced us the latest trends and developments in the industry. I am also impressed by the various kinds of workshops, training, and seminars offered to equip students with essential skills for life after graduation. During my study, I attended activities about CV preparation, interview mock-up, start-ups funding and networking tips that were useful for my future career opportunities. Another aspect that I appreciate from this Programme is the helpfulness of the officers from MScDABE Programme and the Internationalization Section. They are knowledgeable and sincere to offer help when I have problems and difficulties. In addition, the Internationalization Section arranged many activities such as orientation, alumni night and even hiking to provide valuable networking opportunities for students.
