Do you offer spring/summer admission?
The programme only provides autumn admission (September).
Can I apply for several programmes at the same time?
You can submit multiple applications to different programmes for the same intake. You will need to pay the application fee and relevant supporting materials for each application you make. Applicants who submit application online will have to register separate accounts for multiple applications. I am a final year student. Can I apply for the programme before my degree is conferred?
If you are in your final year of study, you may submit applications before obtaining a confirmation of graduation. Successful applicants will be given a “Conditional/Provisional Admission Offer”.
I am an applicant with a few years of working experience. Can I apply for this programme?
Yes, you can. Over the years, we had students with working experience.
What is the application deadline?
We will declare the start date and deadline for each year’s application through webpages. For 2020‐2021 intake, the first round deadline is 31 January 2020 and the second round deadline for non-local applicants is 30 June 2020 and 21 Aug 2020 for local applicants.
Does the programme review applications on a rolling basis?
Yes. Once we received a full admission package, we will begin to review it. That’s why we encourage prospective students to apply as soon as possible. Once the admitted number of students is met, the admission process would stop even before deadline.
Will I be invited to attend an interview?
A limited number of applicants of this program will be invited to attend an interview for scholarship consideration.
Which kind of mathematics preparation do I need in order to be admitted?
We expect our applicants have foundational knowledge of statistics. These knowledge is helpful for the study in this programme.
Do I need to take GMAT/GRE?
We encourage our applicants to take GMAT/GRE. A satisfactory score in GMAT/GRE is helpful in obtaining scholarship.
Can I apply for any scholarship?
Entrance scholarships will be offered each year for the most outstanding applicants. For international applicants, they can be considered for the International Postgraduate Scholarship with waive of full year tuition fee and provision of living allowance of HK$100,000.
For mainland and local students, scholarship would be granted up to an amount equivalent to a full year tuition fee on the basis of pursuing lifelong learning and academic performance.
Several merit-based awards will be given to the most outstanding students in the programme at the time of graduation.
Applicants who want to be considered for entrance scholarship must submit all supporting documents on or before the admission deadline.
Will this programme provides financial aid?
Our programme DOES NOT provide financial aid for students.

When will I know my application result?
Formal notification of admission is sent by the Office of Graduate School. Successful applicants would receive the decision two or three months after the application submission. The programme office will not release any admission decision to individual applicant.
How long will it take to complete this programme?
Generally, a student can complete the full-time programme in 1 year and part-time programme in 2 years.
Can I be a part-time student?
Yes, you can. You can choose to study the 2-year part-time programme.
If I am admitted; will Hong Kong Baptist University provides accommodation?
The University will help admitted students to arrange their accommodation in Hong Kong. Admitted students can apply for the dormitories on campus. However, due to limited supply, most applicants might not be able to live on campus. For more information, please contact the Office of Student Affairs.
What are “Bridging Courses”? Do they have exam?
“Bridging Courses” are designed to help students to get used to the academic environment and prepare for the first semester course work. These courses mainly cover basic mathematics, statistics, and basic economic theories. They are free of charge and there are no exams. The Orientation Day provides key information of the programmes that should be noted by students and career-related matters.
I am a non-local student. Can I work in Hong Kong after I have completed my study?
Persons who have obtained a qualification in a full-time and locally accredited programme in Hong Kong may apply to work in Hong Kong under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG). For detailed information, please refer to the Immigration Department, HKSAR.
